Ticket numbers
Numbers typed into the ticket checker are compared in your browser. They are not sent to our server, stored or logged. Refreshing the page clears them.
Checker selections and archive filters
Your chosen game, draw date and archive filters are placed in the page address so the page can load the right draw. Like any website request, these may appear in standard server logs kept by our hosting provider for security and reliability.
Server logs
Our hosting infrastructure may record technical details such as IP address, browser type and requested page for operating and protecting the service. We do not use them to profile visitors.
Third parties
Links to operators and support organisations take you to their own websites, which have their own privacy policies.
Your rights
Under UK data protection law you have rights over personal data held about you. Since we hold no accounts or profiles, there is normally nothing to access or delete.
Privacy when browsing lottery results and using the checker
The difference between a draw record and personal data
A published lottery result contains the game, draw date and winning numbers. It does not identify the people who bought tickets. Reading those numbers on LotteryUK does not create a player account, register a claim or associate an entry with a named owner. We do not ask for a ticket barcode, date of birth or banking details to show a result.
The ticket checker is also separate from an operator account. Its number comparison happens in the browser. The values typed into its ticket fields are not submitted to our server or retained as a history of your entries. That design reduces unnecessary handling, but it does not mean every technical request to a website is anonymous to the hosting infrastructure.
Page addresses, filters and technical requests
Selecting a game, a draw date or an archive filter changes the requested page address. Those choices help the site retrieve the correct saved record and may appear in normal request logs. They identify browsing parameters, not proof that you bought a ticket. Avoid adding personal information to an address or sending us a link containing a secret.
Ordinary hosting infrastructure may process technical information needed to serve and protect a website. That can include an IP address, request time, browser information and the requested path. This should not be confused with an advertising profile or a list of ticket numbers entered in the local checker. We have not introduced analytics or advertising trackers on these pages.
Practical privacy choices
On a shared device, consider closing the tab when you have finished and follow the device owner’s normal privacy arrangements. Browser history can retain pages you visited, and a copied link can disclose the game and date you were reading. Deleting cookies is not the same as deleting browser history, bookmarks or screenshots saved elsewhere.
If you follow an official operator or support link, you leave LotteryUK and encounter that organisation’s own privacy practices. An operator may need identity or payment information for services that this publisher does not provide. Read its notice before submitting information. Do not assume that a privacy description on our independent results site applies to an external ticket account.
UK rights and the limits of this notice
UK data protection rights can apply to personal information processed about you, including relevant technical records, even where no player profile exists. Those rights are subject to the facts and applicable law. This page does not invent a controller address, retention period or request inbox that has not been supplied. The contact page states the currently available contact arrangements.
Frequently asked questions
Are the numbers I type into the checker kept?
No. The checker compares them locally and does not send those values to our server. Refreshing clears the form. A screenshot, browser extension or other software on your own device is outside that limited statement about how this checker works.
Does a link to a draw contain my ticket?
No. A game and draw date identify the public result you selected, not a ticket owner or a paid entry. Nevertheless, page addresses can appear in browser history and technical logs, so avoid adding personal details to query parameters.
Does this policy cover an operator’s website?
No. External lotteries and support services control their own websites and notices. Follow their privacy information when opening an account, contacting support or making a claim. We do not receive access to those accounts simply because our page links to them.
